The website design was a very challenging assignment. I had never used Weebly before so it took a while to get the hang of it. After I got used to dragging and dropping the widgets, it was much easier. In the end, I'm very proud of my website.

I still don't love using Diigo, but I understand how helpful it can be. I think that on a group annotation assignment, I would enjoy using it and seeing everyone's feedback at once. I also think that as an individual I could use it to annotate economic journals easier. In a classroom setting though I would teach my students how to use it but not expect it from them.

I don't think that there is one all inclusive website that keeps up to date on technology changes.  Personally, I thought this article from Forbes very interesting. It talks about 5 top tech innovations that may actually disrupt the current classroom standards. As a teacher, it will be very interesting to see how more personalized and immersive education standards.

  1. I also had a little but of a difficult time getting used to some of the functions on Weebly, but I grew to really love the way that they designed it. The drag and drop function was my favorite one! I grew to like Diigo a lot, but I wouldn't use it in a classroom setting, I would rather use it among co-workers. For the website, I know that Education Weekly has a technology page if you want to check that out!

  2. I liked your website’s design, I thought it was very appropriate for a high school audience. The relevant text and graphics are used well and don’t get overwhelming. I also love the blog format that you chose for one of the pages, as it is a very clear and efficient way to communicate timely information!
Coincidentally, I also chose the same Forbes article as a source of information. I agree that it is interesting to think about how classroom standards may change in the future as a result of innovation.

  3. Rebecca, I think you did a really good job with your web design! The black-and-white color scheme is simple but aesthetically pleasing. I think that aesthetic works well with the website’s content. Your use of graphics is consistent and good, and the way you integrated them was very cool. Good job!

  4. Hey Rebecca, I really enjoyed visiting your classroom web page. Honestly, your ability to create a design that evokes history is such a cool skill to have. The black and white color scheme, the simplicity, the clear backgrounds and etc. are all very fitting for a U.S history class and I really like it. Also, I think it's such a nice feature to have the contact form for students to submit electronically for joining different organizations? How did you create that feature? It's so cool!
